Socket’s Wondrous Items and Workshop
A mechanical humanoid, Socket calls himself (itself?) an artificer and is one of the few merchants and crafters in the capital who will sell magic items to commoners. He has a few standard potions and scrolls for sale, but if you’ve got a particular request for a specific magic item, or would like to invent one, check with Socket to see what it would take to make it for you. If you bring him monster components using the Alchemist’s Field Kit, it’s possible he can craft items based on the supernatural abilities of the slain creature.
Socket can create a spell scroll from any spell that you can cast, or any 1st level cleric or wizard spell. Spells are cast at their lowest level, and use your caster DC.
Spell Scroll (cantrip) – 13 gp

E Z Cast Cantrip Tablets – 25 gp – A palm sized wooden tablet with silver engraved writing. Single use; can be activated by casters and non-casters a like by a command word. Save DC is 12; spell attack uses your INT, WIS, or CHA, whichever is higher. Sells packs of five for 100 gp.
Tool – Alchemist’s Field Kit – 500 gp – Although it has a smaller capacity than a bag of holding, an alchemist’s field kit keeps up to 50 lbs of matter in a hermetically sealed timeless state, preventing decomposition and loss of energy. Once clasped shut, no time passes inside the kit. It includes the tools and a field guide used for harvesting monster components.
Potion of Climbing – 150 gp – When you drink this potion, you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed for 1 hour and advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks made to climb.
Potion of Healing – 50 gp – Heal 2d4+2 damage
Potion of Greater Healing – 100 gp – Heal 4d4+4 damage.
Potion of fire breath – 250 gp – After drinking this potion, you can use a bonus actionto exhale fire at a target within 30 feet of you. The target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 fire damage on a failed save and half on a successful one. The effect ends after you exhale the first three times or when 1 hour has passed.
Potion of Energy Resistance – 300 gp – When you drink this potion, you gain resistance to one type of energy damage for 1 hour.
Socket can make potions of Fire and Cold resistance. If you bring him something to research (a monster or a magic item relating to that damage type) he may be able to craft a new resistance potion for you.
Potion of water breathing – 150 gp – You can breathe underwater for 1 hour after drinking this potion.
Oil of Slipperiness – 150 gp – Apply to a medium of smaller creature (10 minutes) to give that creature the effect of the freedom of movement spell for 8 hours. Alternatively, the oil can be poured on the ground or on an object as an action, where it covers a 10-foot square, duplicating the effect of a grease spell in that area for 8 hours.
Bag of Holding – 500 gp – A small satchel that is larger on the inside than out. It can hold up to 500 pounds of items in a 64 cubic feet extra-dimensional space, but the bag itself never weighs more than a few pounds. (PG 154)
Driftglobe – 500 gp – Small sphere of thick glass weighing 1 pound. If you are within 60 feet of it, speak its command word to cause it cast the light (at will) or daylight (recharges next dawn) spell. You can speak another command word to have to globe rise five feet in the air and float close to your person.
Rope of Climbing – 650 gp – This 60ft length of silk rope can hold up to 3000 lbs. If you hold one end of the rope and speak it’s command word, the rope slowly obeys your commands, moving 10 feet per turn. It can fasten itself securely, knot itself, or return at your command. When knotted, it shortens to 50 ft and grants advantage to climb checks made on it. The rope’s slow, deliberate movements make it unable to entangle anything other than a willing or helpless creature.
Pole of Extension – 250 gp – As an action, speak a command word to turn this foot long rod into a five foot quarterstaff or a ten foot pole.
Requires Special Components
Goggles of Night – While wearing these goggles, you have darkvision 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, wearing the goggles increases your darkvision range by 60 feet.
Required Component: A pair of eyes from a large creature with darkvision
Elemental Gem [Earth, Fire, Wind, Water] – When you break this gem, an elemental appears as if you cast the conjure elemental spell.
Required Components: The heart of an elementally attuned magical creature, or a few lbs of a destroyed elemental.
Potion of Stoneskin – When you drink this position, you gain resistance to non-magical, non-adamantine, non-silver slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage for 1 minute.
Required Components: Material from a magical creature with resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
